The Wrap asked to 33 Emmy contenders who (on their co-stars) deservers an Emmy and why. Sam Heughan is one of the contenders, and here’s his answer.
Sam Heughan (“Outlander”)
“I think everybody does. Caitriona [Balfe] is terrific. She has so much stamina and she carries the show. She has to show up everyday and just give her best. Tobias, equally, he’s an amazing actor. Those last couple of episodes where I really sort of got to go to some interesting places, he was there and we really supported each other and trusted each other. I think trust is the most important thing. If the actors and the director and the crew trust each other and you set up perimeters and boundaries, you give everyone space to do great work. I think we’ve got an amazing costume department, amazing writers, directors — just give us an Emmy for everything.”
Zap2it spoke with Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan about Tobias Menzies and his coming back as Frank again for Season2.
“I mean, he’s such a nicer man as Frank, isn’t he? It was great to play some of that Frank and Claire stuff again,” Balfe says. “I always enjoy it. It’s just very different. It’s a very different relationship than Claire and Jamie have, and it was great scenes. It’s nice not to be around the perilous Black Jack Randall, for sure.”
Heughan adds, “He’s a lot more chatty over a cup of coffee, isn’t he?”
So, fans has voted – a lot! – and Outlander won mostly of the categories from E!’s Best. Ever. TV. Awards. The trophies were delivered during Comic-Con and you can watch Outlander cast receiving it in the video above.
Zap2it spoke with stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan about what the baby on the way means for the Frasers, and they promised Claire and Jamie won’t only be feeling happiness and excitement.
“Even though she’s so excited about this pregnancy, it does bring up a lot of her insecurities and a lot of her fears,” Balfe says. “She lost her parents when she was 5. She doesn’t have this kind of role model of a mother to sort of know what’s going to happen or know how she’s going to be. I think there’s a lot of fear for her in that.”

Caitriona is World Child Cancer's Patron since 2014.
Many children with cancer in the developing world can be cured, but without appropriate treatment, few survive. World Child Cancer’s work is changing all that and I’m proud to support them and the amazing work they are doing.
We have created a fundraising page to help raise money for the cause in honor of Caitriona. Check out our page here.
